Raytheon announced at the Paris Air Show on 19 June that it is developing a smaller, lightweight version of its Multi-Spectral Targeting System called the Compact MTS (cMTS).
The new system, which retains all the key functions of the MTS product family but weighs less than 60 lb (27.2 kg) and fits inside a 12-inch (305 mm) turret, is designed for exportability and intended for use on fixed-, rotary-wing, and especially unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) platforms.
Like the other sensors in Raytheon's MTS family, the cMTS provides detailed intelligence data from the visual and infrared spectra in the form of high-definition full-motion video.
