A US McDonnell Douglas F-15E shot down an Iranian-made Shaheed-129 unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) in eastern Syria shortly after midnight on 20 June, the second such elimination of a UAV in June.
US officials declined to provide details on who might have been operating the UAV simply referring to the vehicle as “pro-regime”, although several different groups are operating in the area some with direct Iranian backing.
