Spanish plane parts maker Sofitec is to build a 20,000 m2 extension that will include a new surface treatment section at its Carmona factory near Seville.
It has also just opened a new commercial office in Paris, director general, José Miguel Hernández, announced at the Paris Air Show on 20 June.
Hernandez said he hoped building work on the planned EUR12 million (USD13.4 million) extension would start by the end of this year or early 2018.
The aim is to boost total production at the site, which manufactures composite and metallic fuselage, wing, and tail parts by 30%.
Sofitec forms part of the industrial cluster near the southern Spanish city of Seville that serves the local military transport maker Airbus and other international plane-makers.
