Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE) has recently laid down the keel for a Rajshree-class inshore patrol vessel (IPV) on order for the Indian Coast Guard (ICG), company officials told Jane's at the IMDEX 2017 maritime and defence exhibition in Singapore.

The vessel was laid down on 15 May at GRSE's Raja Bagan dockyard in Kolkata. While the platform is the eighth in the Rajshree class overall, it is the first of a second batch of five vessels signed under a contract with the Indian government in 2016.

According to specifications provided by the company, the platform, which it refers to as an inshore patrol vessel (IPV) class, features an overall length of 48.016 m, an overall breadth of 7.5 m, and a draught of 2 m.
