Havelsan has established a Cyber Security Operations Centre at its headquarters in Ankara, offering a continuous cyber security monitoring service.
This can monitor client networks in real time to detect attempted cyber attacks, issue warnings and alarms, and provide defences. In addition to this active response, the centre offers incident analysis and reporting as well as a cyber threat intelligence service.
A Havelsan representative told Jane's that the operations centre has a good relationship with the Turkish national communications security agency and other similar organisations, although he was unable to provide any specific details. He said that the centre was providing cyber defence services for a number of clients, both government and commercial.
The operations centre is part of Havelsan's wider Cyber Defence Technology Centre, which has a number of other elements. It provides software security analysis and test services, including source code analysis and the testing of cyber attack and defence tools.
The centre conducts its own research and development, and has developed a number of cyber security products, including a web application firewall, a website tracking system, a data leakage prevention system, security information and cyber event management software, a private cloud management system, and "honeypot" threat intelligence gathering software.
A range of training and corporate support services leverage these developments. The latter include activities such as the provision of advice on security architecture design; penetration tests and vulnerability assessments; compliance audit; and a "red team" service.
