USAF adds JDAM to MQ-9 Reaper inventory

The US Air Force (USAF) has added the GPS-guided GBU-38 Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) to its current inventory of air-launched weapons (GBU-12 Paveway II, AGM-114 Hellfire) for the MQ-Reaper remotely piloted aircraft system (RPAS). For the first time in combat operations, an MQ-9 operated by the 26th Weapons Squadron, at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada flying out of Creech Air Force Base, Nevada on 4 May released a GBU-38 during Operation Inherent Resolve.
