Pyongyang issues rare warning to Beijing over Chinese media criticism of North Korea's nuclear programme

North Korea has issued a rare warning to China over criticism carried by Chinese state-owned media of Pyongyang's development and testing of nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles in violation of UN Security Council (UNSC) resolutions.

A commentary published by the state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) on 3 May urged Chinese newspapers to refrain from making "reckless remarks" undermining Sino-North-Korean relations.

"The People's Daily and Global Times [newspapers], widely known as media speaking for the official stand of the Chinese party and government, have recently carried commentaries asserting that the Democratic People's Republic of Korea's [DPRK's] access to nukes poses a threat to the national interests of China.
