Rolls-Royce inaugurated a facility in Bangalore on 20 April to enhance logistics and maintenance support for the Indian military.
The company said the aim of the new defence service delivery centre (SDC) is to deliver "optimum support" for more than 750 aero-engines that power Indian armed forces aircraft.
Rolls-Royce said the SDC will act as a base from which its engineers will be dispatched to frontline Indian military bases to provide technical support. The SDC will also offer services related to fleet management, engineering support, and supply chain co-ordination.
The facility will also collaborate with India's aerospace manufacturer Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) to offer enhanced support in activities including manufacturing, assembly, test, and repairs.
