US Army scouts urgent MAAWS acquisition

The US Army Contracting Command-New Jersey (ACC-NJ), acting on behalf of the Project Manager Soldier Weapons (PM SW), has issued a Sources Sought solicitation for the immediate procurement of a reusable shoulder-fired recoilless weapon system and family of ammunition to defeat various target types.

Designated 'Multi-role Anti-Armor, Anti-Personnel Weapon System (MAAWS), the solicitation (W15QKN-17-X-09EZ) was issued on 18 April 2017, with responses required by 3 May 2017.

The PM SW requirement specifies a weapon system that 'can be crew served' and should weigh no more than 15 lb [6.8 kg], with the associated ammunition weighing no more than 10 lb per round.
