IN A STATEMENT released via Telegram on 6 April, the Jamaat Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin militant coalition - including Front de Liberation du Macina (FLM), Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), Al-Murabitou, and Harakat Ansar al-Din - claimed responsibility for a double attack which killed or wounded an unspecified number of French security forces and destroyed a military convoy in a double attack in Douentza area in Mali's Mopti region on an earlier unspecified date, BBC Monitoring reported. The statement added that when a French force came to offer support, militants ambushed their convoy and killed or wounded soldiers.
