Saudi Black Hawk crashes in Yemen

19 April 2017

A Saudi Black Hawk helicopter crashed in Yemen's Marib province on 18 April, killing four officers and eight enlisted men, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) announced on the same day.

It provided no further details of the incident, but said it was under investigation.

Other Saudi media outlets identified the helicopter's pilot as a member of the Saudi Arabia National Guard, which operates new UH-60M Black Hawks.

Pro-rebel media channels claimed the helicopter was shot down near the Saudi-led coalition's Tadawin base north of Marib city.
