Kuwait has requested services worth an estimated USD319 million to upgrade Al-Mubarak Air Base, the US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) announced on 6 April.
The DSCA said the requested services include design, construction, and procurement of facilities for key airfield operations, command-and-control, readiness, sustainment, and life support at Al-Mubarak Air Base. The facilities will be replacements for the existing operations centre, hangars, training facilities, and barracks.
The US State Department has approved the deal, which will be managed by the US Army Corps of Engineers.
