North Korea's 'reckless' actions 'got to be stopped', says Mattis

03 April 2017

North Korea is moving in a "very reckless manner" with regard to its nuclear and missile programmes, US secretary of defence Jim Mattis said on 31 March during a visit to the United Kingdom.

"This is a threat of both rhetoric and growing capability, and we will be working with the international community to address this," said Mattis in a joint press conference with his UK counterpart, Michael Fallon, according to the news website of the US Department of Defense.

"Right now, it appears to be going in a very reckless manner in what its conduct is portraying for the future," said the US defence secretary referring to the regime in Pyongyang.
