Domestic left-wing militants likely to target parties related to Greek bailout and other international embassies in parcel-bomb attacks

17 March 2017

Greek anarchist group Synomosia Pyrinon Tis Fotias (SPF) claimed responsibility yesterday (16 March) for a parcel bomb delivered to the German Ministry of Finance in Berlin on 15 March.

The parcel was addressed to Minister of Finance Wolfgang Schäuble. German media reported that the package contained a small, functioning improvised explosive device (IED) made from explosives used in fireworks. In a separate incident, a parcel bomb detonated at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) office in Paris, France, yesterday, wounding one person.
