Hirtenberger reveals market progress

01 March 2017

Hirtenberger Defence Technology (HDT) revealed progress in providing its ARC-FIRE indirect fire-support command-and-control systems to a number of countries at the International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) 2017 in Abu Dhabi, although little specific information was publicly available owing to non-disclosure agreements.

The company has been awarded a supply contract for ARC-FIRE worth more than EUR6 million (USD6.4 million) by a major Gulf region country to support 81 and 120 mm mortar systems, which will be provided under licence.

Ian Garnett, managing director of HDT, told Jane's that a full ARC-FIRE system was undergoing evaluation and live-firing trials with a major customer in Asia, and he hoped that a contract would be awarded by the end of 2017.
