Leonardo announced on 28 February that Austrian company Schiebel has selected its PicoSAR surveillance radar for the Camcopter S-100 unmanned aircraft that it is selling to the armed forces of an unidentified North African country.

The PicoSAR is an active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar that weighs just 10 kg. Leonardo said the radar would be delivered to the North African military later this year and would be used to support border-monitoring and anti-terrorism surveillance missions.
