UK plans ORCA project to upgrade MCM command information

The UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) is set to launch a competition for the update and refresh of the NAUTIS mine warfare combat management system (CMS) fitted to the Royal Navy's (RN's) Hunt-class and Sandown-class mine countermeasures vessels (MCMVs).

Under the Oceanographic Reconnaissance Combat Architecture (ORCA) project, the Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) organisation's Maritime Combat Systems group is seeking a solution that will address NAUTIS hardware and software obsolescence, and introduce an open architecture that can be built upon for future capabilities.
