Lockheed Martin has conducted a further test firing of a modernised Tactical Missile System (TACMS).
The early February tests were undertaken at the White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico, and saw the missile fired from the High-Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) and strike its target at a distance of more than 200 km.
This latest test follows a firing conducted in December 2016, where a target was hit at a distance of 71 km. These firings represent the third and fourth instances to date, all of which have been successful and met their goals, according to Scott Greene, vice-president of precision fires and combat manoeuvre systems at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control.
