With an existing manufacturing facility in the UAE, British-owned Advanced Armour Engineering (AAE, Stand 04-B04) is planning to increase its investment here to offer a complete fabricated armoured hull service. The company specialises in subcontract steel processing – laser cutting, bending and welding – of blast and ballistic steel components for armoured vehicle manufacturers.
Continued growth in 2016 saw AAE having to move from Jebel Ali to Sharjah to larger manufacturing facilities and investing in its first robotic welding system to improve quality and finish. This increased headcount and production levels.
“This investment in hull manufacture will see us become the first steel subcontractor in the Middle East to offer this kind of service,” said AAE general manager Simon Hurst.
