The Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF) has opened a new facility - fully funded by China - to provide maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) support for military vehicles.
The MRO facility is located in the outskirts of Phnom Penh and was officially inaugurated on 15 February, news reports from state-run news agencies in both countries said.
The service centre is operated by the Royal Cambodian Army's (RCA's) 'No. 99 trucking battalion' and will be focused on supporting the RCA's logistics vehicles, which are regarded as the service's principal transport asset.
The No. 99 battalion operates mainly Chinese vehicles and related equipment that Beijing has donated to the Southeast Asian nation in several batches over the past few years.
