Harris Corporation has been awarded a two-year, USD189 million contract as the prime contractor and system integrator to provide an integrated battle management system (BMS) to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Armed Forces.
The Harris system will provide the UAE with initial operational capabilities as the country implements enhanced battlefield management solutions. The contract was issued under the Emirates Command & Control System (ECCS) Land Tactical System (ELTS) programme that is intended to integrate, co-ordinate, and maximise the combined efficiency of UAE Armed Forces assets.
The ELTS will integrate a number of combat functions, including intelligence, situational awareness, weather conditions, tactical planning, and a common operational picture.
