EDA seeks satcom provision for EU's expeditionary missions

16 February 2017

The European Defence Agency (EDA) is seeking the provision of satellite communications services on behalf of the EU's expeditionary common security and defence policy (CSDP) operations, and to support the member states' crisis management activities.

Worth EUR20 million (USD21.2 million), the 12-month contract will cover services that include theatre communications and IT networks for CSDP headquarters and will be subject to automatic renewal up to three times under the same conditions.

The procurement will be financed from the EU's general budget, with the deadline for responding to the EDA tender being 27 April.
