10 February 2017

Key Points

  • TFSMS is making the USMC be more efficient and effective in tracking force structure billets and equipment
  • TFSMS combines the TMR and the LMIS

The Total Force Structure Management System (TFSMS), the US Marine Corps' (USMC's) data source to assess manpower and equipment requirements, has reached the operations and sustainment phase.

All units have access to TFSMS and to their tables of organisation and tables of equipment, Cynthia Cheek, deputy director of the Total Force Structure division, told Jane's.

The tables are basically a standard report that depicts how a specific unit is organised in terms of number, types of personnel, and associated equipment to perform assigned missions.
