US Navy sticks with AAG as future carrier arrestor system

31 January 2017

Senior US Navy (USN) officials have confirmed that the service will install the new Advanced Arresting Gear (AAG) system on the future USS John F Kennedy (CVN 79) and subsequent Ford-class nuclear-powered aircraft carriers after ruling out a return to the legacy Mk 7 Mod 4 recovery system.
