Nigerian Navy commissions new vessels

The Nigerian Navy commissioned it's a new offshore-patrol vessel NNS Unity (F 92), as well as the locally built inshore patrol boat NNS Karaduwa (P 102), the tug Commander Ugwu , and 27 small patrol craft during a ceremony held in Lagos on 15 December.

NNS Unity is the Nigerian Navy's second Chinese-made P18N class OPV procured by Nigeria. It arrived in Lagos in early November.

Built at the Nigerian Naval Dockyard in Lagos, the 39 m NNS Karaduwa is the Nigerian Navy's second Seaward Defence Boat (SDB) and the second indigenously built vessel to be launched this year after Commander Ugwu , which was built at the Naval Shipyard in Port.
