After several months of delay, the US Navy (USN) is poised to move forward with a competition to acquire a new surface-to-surface guided weapon to equip its Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) and follow-on Fast Frigate (FF) classes.
The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) on 2 December announced it planned to release a draft Request for Proposals (RfP) for the so-called Over-the-Horizon - Weapon System (OTH-WS) on 9 December ahead of an industry day scheduled for 16 December.
