Bolivia evaluates C-27J tactical airlifter

24 November 2016

Leonardo has recently conducted demonstration flights of the Alenia C-27J Spartan tactical transport aircraft out of La Paz, at the request of the Bolivian government.

A single aircraft arrived in the Latin American country on 19 November to perform a series of ground and flight trials for the Bolivian Air Force (Fuerza Aérea Boliviana: FAB) and Ministry of Defence (MoD).

The Red Devils Joint Air Task Force (FTADR) is the evaluating unit for the aircraft, which is an Italian Air Force MC-27J Praetorian model on loan for a Latin American demonstration tour; previously the FTADR evaluated the Airbus Defence and Space (DS) C295 as part of a bid for two new tactical transport aircraft for the FAB.
