Mercury Systems' new server fills a gap for securing forward deployed systems

Mercury Systems has introduced the first rackmount secure server for the defence applications, designed to drive the most powerful mission processing, sensor processing and cybersecurity applications, addressing the need for affordable and trusted solutions to protecting mission-critical functions.

Mercury Systems saw a gap as companies began moving to rackmount servers. Commercial servers, even from US companies, were missing the security components to protect vital systems and data, as well as the security of the trusted supply chain, Richard Jaenicke, director of strategy alliances and market development for Mercury Systems told IHS Jane's.

"We are not trying to address the entire server market.
