ST Engineering's Marine Arm Liquidates Fortis Marine Solutions Pte. Ltd.

Singapore, 24 October 2016 Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd (ST Engineering) today announced that Fortis Marine Solutions Pte. Ltd. (FMS), a joint venture between its marine arm, Singapore Technologies Marine Ltd (ST Marine), and SAAB Kockums Aktiebolag (SK) has been placed under members voluntary winding up pursuant to Section 290(1)(b) of the Companies Act, Chapter 50.

FMS was formed with the primary objective of building in-country capability in the refitting and life cycle support services for the submarine fleet of the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN). The decision to liquidate FMS was mutually agreed upon between the shareholders as the objective has largely been achieved; however, the two shareholders will continue to work closely with each other to ensure continual support to the RSN.

The liquidation is not expected to have any material impact on the consolidated net tangible assets per share and earnings per share of ST Engineering for the current financial year.
