Thai firm Kasama and Lockheed Martin sign UAV technology accord

17 September 2015

Thai firm Kasama Helicopters, which specialises in developing small vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), has signed an agreement with Lockheed Martin to collaborate on technologies, the chief executive officer of Kasama Helicopters confirmed to IHS Jane's on 17 September.

Kasama Taworn said the arrangement, facilitated under a recently signed accord, is intended to allow the two companies to exchange VTOL-UAV technologies, with a view to future joint production or to allow Kasama Helicopters to enter Lockheed Martin's supply chain.

"Lockheed Martin has expressed interest in our VTOL-UAV airframe technologies and we currently don't have technologies related to flight control and ground control systems," said Kasama.
