Saudi Arabia requests USD500 million ammo replenishment

The US State Department has approved the sale of a large amount of ammunition to Saudi Arabia to replenish stocks depleted by the ongoing conflict in Yemen, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) announced on 29 July.

The DSCA said the proposed sales were worth an estimated USD500 million and included a million M430A1 40 mm high-velocity grenades, 60,000 high-explosive anti-tank tracer (HEAT-T) tank rounds for the guns on Saudi Arabia's M60 and AMX 30 tanks, and 60,000 M107 155 mm HE projectiles with associated M4A2 and M3A1 propellant charges for use with the kingdom's howitzers.
