Expanding activities in Africa [AAD141]

17 September 2014

According to figure from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), African aviation supports almost seven million jobs, with most in the industry’s supply chain and in air transport’s role in tourism. It is no wonder then that Transworld Aerosystems (Hangar 2, Stand CP10) saw the need to open an office in South Africa.

With offices already in the US, Dubai and Thailand, TWA Africa is celebrating its first year of operation here next month. With an eye on showcasing its capabilities, the company launched a new website, www.twaafrica.com.

TWA Africa has its local repair facilities at Johannesburg’s OR Tambo international airport for brake assemblies, nosewheel landing gear, servo actuators and fire bottles. Being registered with the US State Department and the Commerce Department, TWA Africa can export military parts hassle-free.

The company intends to open a warehouse in Johannesburg for stock consumables, which are currently warehoused in Dubai.

TWA Africa is the sole distributor for Aero- Sense products in southern Africa, which include screen and carpet cleaners, general aircraft cleaners and insecticides. It also distributes Aeroshell greases, hydraulic fluids and piston engine oils.

The company is also a distributor for several OEMs, including 3M, Henkel, Honeywell and Rockwell Collins.
