Colombia receives final T-90 Calima primary trainer

The Colombian Air Force's Air Maintenance Command (CAMAN) received its 25th and final T-90 Calima primary trainer on 26 August, the command announced.

The T-90 Calima was selected to replace the long-serving Beechcraft T-34 Mentor in the Military Aviation School Marco Fidel Suárez located in Cali.

Local production of the first aircraft began in May 2009 at the Corporation of the Colombian Aeronautic Industry (Corporacion de la Industria Aeronautica Colombiana - CIAC), with deliveries to the air force beginning in December 2009. The T-90 Calima is based on the Lancair Legacy FG and is equipped with a Garmin G500 multi-function display and GTN 650 GPS.
