Baltic forges closer ties (ES14E5)

Defence industry leaders from the Baltic countries of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania have this week signed a memorandum of understanding covering greater collaboration. The three nations co-operate closely on political, defence and security matters, and that co-operation has become even more important due to heightened tensions created by developments in Ukraine.

Now the three countries have agreed to extend the co-operation to their defence industries. This will increase export opportunities, as well as enabling the industries to support national forces at a higher level.
