L-3 TRL looks to Asian expansion through new Malaysian office

UK company L-3 TRL, a subsidiary of L-3 Communications specialising in defence electronics, is aiming to expand its footprint in Asia through a recently opened office in Malaysia, the company has told IHS Jane's .

The move is being followed up by L-3 TRL's efforts to secure industrial partnerships in the country and its pursuit of a number of important contracts, a company spokesperson said on 27 May.

L-3 TRL has enjoyed some success in the Asia in recent years by exporting its electronic warfare (EW) products to support government counterterrorism and counter-insurgency activities. By opening its Malaysian office in 2013 the company is hoping to build on these sales and promote its newly developed encryption and integrated EW products.
