The King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau (KADDB) (Hall 5) has unveiled its latest Stallion II light armoured vehicle (LAV).

The King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau (KADDB) (Hall 5) has unveiled its latest Stallion II light armoured vehicle (LAV).

Stallion II features an all monocoque welded steel hull, with the protected engine compartment at the front and the crew compartment at the rear.

This version has a protection level of STANAG 4569 Level 1.

The vehicle shown at SOFEX is fitted with roof-mounted Rheinmetall grenade launchers over the frontal arc. DRS Technologies thermal cameras are fitted for situational awareness through a full 360°, with the images displayed at the driver’s and commander’s position to the immediate rear of the engine compartment.

KADDB is marketing the Stallion II for a wide range of battle eld missions. e example at SOFEX is in the armoured personnel carrier (APC) con figuration, with a total of eight seats. Other suggested missions include internal security vehicle, logistics, reconnaissance and border patrol vehicle.

For a higher level of cross-country mobility, the Stallion II is fitted with heavy-duty independent suspension and standard equipment includes a central tyre inflation system, powered steering and a front-mounted winch.

Provision is made for the installation of a 7.62mm or .50 machine gun on the roof. Alternatives include a protected weapon station or even a remote weapon station armed with similar weapons.
