Thales Alenia Space stakes claim on UK

01 May 2014

Thales Alenia Space - the space technologies joint venture of Thales and Finmeccanica - has announced that it will establish a subsidiary in the UK.

The decision emerged on 30 April, and was followed the next day by the announcement that Thales Alenia Space will underpin its place in the UK through the acquisition of the space interests of Cohort's SEA subsidiary for up to GBP7.5 million (USD12.7 million).

The new Thales Alenia Space venture will be based at the Harwell Science and Innovation Campus in Oxfordshire, southern England. The move follows the establishment of a subsidiary in Germany in 2011.
