BAE Systems, Lockheed confirm bids for Australian trainer

09 April 2014

BAE Systems Australia has confirmed a teaming arrangement with Beechcraft and CAE for Australia's future pilot training tender in a statement released on 10 April.

The three companies said they were offering a training system based around the Hawker Beechcraft T-6C military trainer. It also encompasses training, systems integration and sustainment capabilities provided by BAE Systems, and simulation, training and support services supplied by CAE.

The team is competing for the contract against Lockheed Martin, Pilatus and Hawker Pacific, who have formed a consortium named Team 21, offering a training system based on Pilatus' PC-21 aircraft. Team 21 confirmed its bid in a statement published on 3 April.
