AgustaWestland signs helicopter support agreement with Singapore Technologies

AgustaWestland has signed an agreement with a subsidiary of Singapore Technologies Engineering (ST Engineering) that will lead to Singapore becoming a maintenance and repair centre for AgustaWestland helicopters in operation in the Asia-Pacific.

Under the terms of the letter of intent, which was signed at the Singapore Airshow on 13 February, STA Systems, a subsidiary of ST Aerospace - the aerospace arm of ST Engineering - will become a component repair centre supporting regionally operated AW109 light utility helicopters and AW139 medium utility helicopters.

A statement said that STA Systems is scheduled to start support activities by mid-2014, performing main and tail rotor component repairs for the helicopters.
