BAE Systems is preparing to rebrand its Detica as BAE Systems Applied Intelligence, a move that comes six years after the USD1 billion acquisition of the cyber security operation.
BAE Systems revealed the rebranding plan in a staff newsletter, saying that it would take effect from 31 January.
Detica was acquired in September 2008 for USD998 million. It became the hub for subsequent cyber security acquisitions, notably Australia's Stratsec (bought for USD25 million) and Norkom of Ireland (USD281 million) in 2011.
BAE Systems' integration strategy for Detica differed from the group's usual approach. BAE Systems typically rebrands newly acquired companies almost immediately.
